Saadani National Park

Saadani is the only park in East Africa where the savannah runs directly onto the Indian Ocean shoreline, letting travellers combine a genuine game drive with an afternoon swim in the same day. The Wami River, home to hippo and crocodile, cuts through the park and can be explored by boat.

Elephant, giraffe, lion, and buffalo move through coastal thicket and grassland just steps from the beach, making Saadani a convenient and unusual add-on for a Zanzibar-bound itinerary.
